Description
Rosca de Reyes is a traditional Mexican pastry enjoyed on Epiphany.
Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups milk, warm
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup candied fruits
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Activate the yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar.
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat eggs and add melted butter.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, then add yeast mixture.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Shape the dough into a ring and place on a baking sheet.
- Decorate with candied fruits and almonds.
- Let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.

- Serve with hot chocolate.
- Traditionally, a small figurine is hidden inside.
