- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 onion, quartered
- Fresh herbs for stuffing (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water.
- Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- Rub olive oil all over the turkey.
- In a bowl, mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
- Season the turkey inside and out with the spice mixture.
- Stuff the cavity with lemon, onion, and fresh herbs if using.
- Place the turkey on a roasting pan.
- Roast the turkey until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
