Ingredients

  • 4 sheets nori seaweed

  • 1 avocado, sliced

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  3. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat until dissolved.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, mix in the vinegar mixture and let it cool.
  5. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat.
  6. Spread a layer of sushi rice on the nori, leaving an inch at the top.
  7. Add a line of cucumber, avocado, and shrimp or crab in the center.
  8. Roll the sushi tightly, using the mat to help shape it into a heart.
  9. Slice the roll into pieces and arrange on a plate.
  10. Serve with soy sauce.
