A traditional Thanksgiving feast featuring turkey and classic side dishes.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 2 cups stuffing mix
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 tablespoon sage
- 1 tablespoon thyme
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 can cranberry sauce
- 1 pie (pumpkin or apple)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the stuffing by melting butter in a pan and sautéing celery and onion.
- Add stuffing mix and chicken broth to the sautéed vegetables and stir.
- Stuff the turkey with the prepared stuffing.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, removing foil for the last 30 minutes to brown.
- While the turkey cooks, boil potatoes in salted water until tender.
- Drain the potatoes and mash with milk and sour cream.
- Heat cranberry sauce on the stove until warm.
- Serve turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce.
- Finish the meal with a slice of pie.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- You can prepare the stuffing a day in advance.
- Use leftover turkey for sandwiches the next day.
