Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
  3. Add cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Sift flour and salt together, then fold into egg mixture.
  6. Add vanilla and gently fold until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Invert the pan to cool completely before removing the cake.
