Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Add red food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  7. Roll out the dough and cut into heart shapes using cookie cutters.
  8. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Let cool before serving.
